LLC «Volgo-Baltic Logistic» completed the project of reactor body delivery to the Port of St. Petersburg.  The uniqueness of the operation of transportation is defined by very significant dimensions of the reactor’s body: length — 11.54 m; width — 5.6 meters; height — 5.47 m; Weight — 332.7 tons.

Reactor’s body (ВВЭР-1000) was manufactured by «Izhorskiye Zavody» under the contract with «Tianwan Nuclear Station» (CHINA).  Delivery of reactor’s body started on October 2014 — from production site «Izhorskiye zavody» . While road transportation of cargo from the production plant to the pier of «Izhora Plants» on the specialized transport units, transporters twice crossed the railroad. This required a few hours to block the movement of trains and to raise the power line. Further equipment is handled on barge by ro-ro on the quay of «Izhora Plants», located on the bank of the river. Neva, and then was taken to the port of St. Petersburg, where the use of a floating crane «Demag» is unloaded on the quay for further shipment to China by ship.
